Why Walnuts?

How to store Walnuts?
No food should last forever (except honey of course). From the time they are harvested, our Walnuts last for up to 2 years if they are properly stored. But they are just so delicious we bet they will be gobbled up within moments. There are three elements that affect the life of a Walnut: Light, Oxygen and Temperature.
Following these easy guidelines will help you the most out of your Walnuts:
• Store your Walnuts in a cool, dry place.
• Make sure the container is properly sealed.
• Storing Walnuts in a refrigerator can keep them fresh for up to 6 months.
• Walnuts stored in a freezer can last between 18 and 24 months.
• Try to keep Walnuts away from foods that have a heavy odour, such as garlic or fish.
Where does the Walnut Pantry get their products?
We are very fortunate to have access to the largest Walnut farm in Sub-Saharan Africa. Nestled on the banks of the Orange River in the Free State, Rotondo Walnuts has orchards with a wide range of varietals of Walnut trees. We choose from their best. They are Vegan, GMO-free, Halaal and Kosher friendly.
Rotondo is becoming a leader in regenerative farming practices in tree nut agriculture. This means the product we receive becomes more wholesome. A win all around.
Our Walnut oil is produced in a family owned and operated pressing facility in KwaZulu Natal. It is carefully produced in small batches to ensure only be best and freshest oil is offered by the Walnut Pantry.
All our other Walnut offerings are produced and packaged in Cape Town. We are extremely particular about who we work with and have been very fortunate to have relationships with amazing boutique kitchens who believe in the value of creating the highest quality Walnut products.
How Will I Receive my Order?
We use couriers for deliveries from the Walnut Pantry. Depending on what and how much is ordered some will come from the farm, others will come from Cape Town. Delivery can take between 3 to 7 working days depending on where you are.
What about Bulk Orders of Walnuts?
We provide Walnut orders from 1kg to 500 kg’s. Please contact us for wholesale pricing on hello@walnutpantry.co.za
What is Walnut Pantry’s Returns Policy?
If you are in anyway unhappy with your purchase please contact us immediately. We cannot accept returns after 7 days from the date of delivery. Walnuts are fresh food products, they will deteriorate with time if not stored correctly.
Should anything be missing from your order, please inform us immediately. Mistakes do happen.
